POSITION SUMMARY:
 
Responsible for the overall and day-to-day Club accounting and finance functions. Key member of the senior management team working closely with the General Manager to ensure the smooth financial operation of the club. 
 
PRIMARY DUTIES:
 
  1. Compile and analyze financial information and report findings to the General Manager, Ownership and Member committees.
  2. Supervise and coordinate the creation, development, management, and administration of daily, monthly, and annual financial process including forecasting, budgeting, payroll, revenue strategies, expense management, monthly re-caps, cost of sales, receivables and payables along with inventories as applicable for Club and Accounting department. 
  3. Establish, modify, document, and implement accounting policies and procedures for the Club.
  4. Work with department managers to ensure inventory, member billing, daily sales, purchasing and petty cash protocols are in place and adhered to for security and accuracy.  Report questionable activity and inaccuracies to the General Manager.
  5. Coordinate with IT implementation of system changes as they relate to accounting.
  6. Review and sign weekly check runs.
  7. Coordinate and oversee tax filings for federal, state and local agencies.
  8. Perform monthly variance analysis between actual results and budget and review with the General Manager and with Ownership.
  9. Prepare for Ownership and the General Manager monthly cashflow forecasts
  10. Responsible for dues and monthly member billing and collection process.
  11. Ensure regular reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts with cashflow & income statements.
  12. Record loan payments and reconcile all loan balances monthly.
  13. Manage and review the correct recording of all lease payments.
  14. Review bi-weekly payroll & related payroll financial accounting.
  15. Analyze processes for improvement.  Recommend and implement process changes where appropriate.
  16. Participate in special projects and prepare ad hoc reports as needed
  17. Ensure GAAP accounting principles are adhered to.
  18. Reconcile financial records for correctness and accuracy.
  19. Coordinate and prepare for the annual audit function.
  20. Oversees selection, training, scheduling, motivation, development, and coaching of departmental staff.
  21. Perform all other accounting related tasks as required to be compliant and for the effective operation of the Club.
